First & Second Declension
Adjectives Class I
Question 1
Briefly, but completely, describe the rules for associating an adjective to a substantive.

Answer 1
  1. An adjective matches the case, gender and number of the substantive to which it refers.
  2. Adjectives of the first class also follow the declension of the gender of the substantive to which they refer; e.g.: a masculine adjective matches the 2nd declension of the noun it refers to, whereas a feminine adjective matches the 1st class declension of the noun it refers to; likewise for the neutral.
  3. The adjective can be placed before or after the substantive according to the particular mood or emphasis of the speaker/writer.
