ACTIONS

1- Read Lesson 1 - Introduction.

2- Move to the Pre Grammar page.

3- Learn the words on the Comparative Dictionary 1 page.

4- Next move to the First Translation and do the guided translation on your own.

5- When you feel comfortable with the above sections move to Grammar 1 and learn how to decline nouns that fall in the First Declension category, and a few general notes on pronunciation and accents.

6- Once you feel positive with the first declension move to Excercise 1 and do those examples. If you grasped the lesson on the Pre Grammar page, you should be able to translate them quite easily.

7- Review the Running Vocabulary 1 and try to learn those words. Also practice your first declension on as many words as you can. Ignore those belonging to other declensions for now.

8- Finally enjoy the reading of Latin Literature 1 taken from Ovid's Metamorphoses and the given translation.  You won't be able to translate it yet on your own, but enjoy reading it aloud and practise your pronunciation regardless of any errors.  Any such errors can be corrected later.

BENEFIT

1- Review or learn the parts of speech.

2- Learn about declension of nouns and logical analysis of a sentence.

3- Start to build up a vocabulary. Compare with words in other European languages.

4- You will begin to get a feeling for how the live syntax of both languages interacts.

5- You will be able to identify all nouns ending in a and identifying them as being mainly nouns of feminine gender, except some male names that also end in a.

6- You will be able to start looking into a short sentence and dissect it into its basic parts: subject, object, who is doing the action and who is receiving the action. The word order also is changeable without altering the meaning of the sentence. This will start to hone your logical skills in your personal life.

7- Expand your personal Latin vocabulary. To help memorising your First Declension write the full paradigm on scrap paper several times till you are capable of writing it without referring to the template. Follow the example I am showing on the right hand side of this note.

8- Widen your cultural knowledge into the Classics, and add to your personal gratification. In due course, this will improve your career opportunities.
