PART 1 - LESSON 1 MODULE

ACTION

1- Read the Introduction in Part 1, Lesson 1

2- Move to the Pre Grammar page

3- Learn the words listed in the Comparative Dictionary 1 page.

4- Now move to the First Translation and attempt the guided translation on your own.

5- When you feel comfortable with the above sections move to Grammar 1 and learn how to decline nouns that fall in what is called "First Declension" category; also, read the few general notes on pronunciation and accents.

6- Once you feel positive with the first declension move to Excercise 1 and do those examples. If you grasped the lesson on the Pre Grammar page you should be able to translate them with ease.

7- Review the Running Vocabulary 1 and try to learn those words. Also practice your first declension on as many words as you can. Ignore those belonging to other declensions for now.

PART 1 - LESSON 1 MODULE

BENEFIT

1- Review or learn the parts of speech

2- Learn about declension of nouns and basic logical analysis of a sentence.

3- Start to build up a vocabulary. Compare with words in other European languages to identify the common root.

4- You will begin to get a feeling for how the live syntax of both languages interacts.

5- You will be able to identify all nouns ending in a and categorise them as being mainly nouns of feminine gender, except some male names that also end in a.

6- You will be able to start looking into a short sentence and dissect it into its basic parts: subject, object, verb; viz. who is doing the action and who is receiving the action. The word order also is changeable without altering the meaning of the sentence. This will start an analytical mind-set process that will have beneficial effects in your personal life.

7- Expand your personal Latin vocabulary.
